LA > Vegas: Halloween
This was probably the best LA trip so far. Went out strictly for fun on this one. Visited my buddy Boomer who just got a job at SpaceX which is dope af. He lives in Redondo Beach, just south of LAX. We spent a bunch of time eating tacos and hanging at Manhattan/Hermosa Beach.
Took a bike up past the skatepark on Venice Beach and all the way out to the Santa Monica Pier. I had already been out but it was cloudy last time. Got some insane flicks. Went on some swings on the beach. Felt like a kid again. New places can do that to you.
I mean look at that picture. The reasons I don't live in LA get fewer and fewer by the day. The next day we took a quick bop down to Runyon and hiked the canyon. That was pretty epic. Got some insane views of DTLA from the summit.
Then things got weird. Any time you go to Vegas, things get weird really fast. But this was different. It was HALLOWEEN in Vegas. We had a suite at The Venetian. I knew I was in for major issues. To make matters worse, I found myself in Barstow dressed as Raoul Duke from the infamous Hunter S. Thompson novel/flick "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".
I don't care much to talk about what happened after this point. Vegas is a bad place. Don't go there. But also DO go there.
